Thank You To All Our Volunteers and Supporters

We’ve received so much support from the community over the years, and we’d like to say a HUGE thank you to you all!

Thank you to all our volunteers, without you we simply couldn’t get it all done! Since 2015, we have had over 100 volunteers helping with various aspects of the market (approximately 10-15 per year)!

Wellington County has provided grants in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, including additional financial support to purchase COVID cleaning supplies in 2020. We continue to work with Wellington County, which has been key to our growth over the past two years. The County provides us staff support from Economic Development Officer Christina Mann, under the umbrella of the County’s Taste Real – From the Ground Up Program. With ongoing support from Wellington County, all the eight Wellington County area Market are able to work together.

Guelph-Eramosa Township (GET) provided us with financial assistance to help with advertising and promotion in our first year (2015). In 2020, we moved to Township land, where have a reduced rental rate. In 2022, we also received a GET Community Improvement Grant to help us install our permanent storage at Rockmosa Park.

The Rockwood Branch of the Royal Bank of Canada provided community grants and volunteer assistance each year from 2016-2019. This money assisted us to purchase our own sound equipment, to promote the market to local residents, and to begin offering an honorarium to our on-site Market Manager.

The Greenbelt Foundation and Greenbelt Markets covered the cost of  an on-line sales platform when we operated in 2020 under Covid-19 restrictions.

Annette Kalapaca donates her time to design all the Rockwood Farmers’ Market promotional materials. Special thanks for designing our logo in 2015, all our posters, and our original website in 2016, as well as updated site in 2022!

Royal Lepage Royal City Realty sponsored the Corn Roast in 2018 and 2019 with all proceeds to East Wellington Community Services and the local Food Bank.

Trillium West sponsored the Harvest Festival from 2016 – 2019, and collected donations for East Wellington Community Services and the local Food Bank.

Home Hardware and Foodland sponsored our two annual Local Business Festivals from 2017 – 2019. These amazing community businesses provided food and activities, with all proceeds to local schools to benefit the youth in our community.

Cory Young with The Co-Operators and Tammy Samuels with RE/MAX each donated a tent.

Xristopher Bland donated his time from 2017 – 2019 to get our social media and promotions off the ground.

Shari Lovell donated photographs in 2020 and 2021, Aaron Letourneau took some arial photos in 2021, and George Wang of George Wang Photography donated photographs in 2015 and 2016.

The following local businesses showed support from our inception, donating prizes for our 2015 opening day draw: Rockwood Home Hardware, Rockwood Pharmacy, Lemongrass Spa, Rivers Edge Gift Shop, Rockwood Casual Dining Restaurant, Remax Realtors, Guelph Costco, Terra Greenhouses.

Doug Thompson donated the use of his sound equipment and his technical help throughout our first season and advised us on the purchase of our own equipment, and Dwayne Hitchcock helped us with our music equipment storage and set up.

Many musicians have donated their time over the years, and we are grateful for the joy you bring to RFM shoppers with your music.

THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY

FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PATRONAGE!
